HE Silos Gunnedah is a proud third-generation Australian made and family-owned business.
Early days
In 1969, Ivan and Patrician Morrison started a general engineering company known as Hillston Engineering, based in Hillston in rural NSW.
The business direction naturally evolved into the agricultural industry with the production of projects such as machinery, shearing shed and commercial grain storage complexes. After three years of general engineering, they decided to focus solely on the construction of grain silos with the creation of the business known as HE Silos.
Company expansion
In 1984, Ivan and Patricia relocated to Forbes NSW with their four sons. They began operating a dedicated factory for grain silos which is still in operation today.
Further expansion saw Darryl Morrison, his wife Cherylee, and their children relocated to Gunnedah in north-western NSW to open a second factory in 1997. In 2013 a subsidiary company was created focussing on the construction of large capacity onsite silos also located in Gunnedah.
Today
Although they retired in 2006, you often see Ivan and Patricia at the factories from time to time. Darryl, Cherylee, and the third generation Darrell, Larna and son-in-law Andrew own and operate HE Silos Gunnedah. HE Silos Forbes continues to operate with Steven and Jenny Morrison and their children Stevie Leigh and Joshua.
